Bioblitz - Bat Detectives

A member of Hampshire Bat Group will be leading a walk to discover the bats inhabiting Itchen Valley Country Park. The evening starts with an informative talk about the nocturnal mammals, followed by a short walk with detectors to listen out for the different species flying around. Suitable for adults and children 6 + years.

The route may contain uneven ground. Please get in touch to discuss any access needs.

This event will require patience and the ability to listen to the experts talking. Not suitable for children under 6 years.

The moth traps are not as successful in wet weather so the event will be moved if the forecast is for rain on the night.

Summer Sundowner

Gather your friends together for our first Summer Sundowner, bask in the suns rays with a drink and delicious food in hand.

The event will be held in the Market Place behind the Woodland Cafe and is outdoors; please dress for the weather as the event will go ahead in most weathers! We encourage you to bring your own seating.

Food will be available to buy from Grate Catering & Events HQ and drinks from Vibrant Brewery, please do not bring your own alcohol or food on site. 

Sadly dogs are not permitted at this event.

Menopause Walk

Join a group of people at a similar stage of life to chat and exercise on a walk around Hamble Common.

Meet at Hamble Point car park

Come with sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the weather

Refreshments are provided at the end. 


IVCP walk and talk

Walk and Talk - IVCP

A friendly group who meet for a walk and talk in the park. The walk is up to 3 km in distance at a relaxed pace. It is mostly on surfaced tracks but sometimes includes walking up a slope and after rain the ground conditions can be slippery. Walking boots/wellies and sticks are recommended. 

A parking permit is provided

A guided walk to meet new people, chat and explore the Country Park. The walk is a distance of up to 2 km at a relaxed pace.

Parking is free  

Refreshments are available for the cost of £1 for a hot drink and a biscuit. Cash only please

Waterproof footwear is recommended

Well behaved dogs on leads are permitted

Walk and Talk Bursledon

Join a circular guided walk at a relaxed pace around Old Bursledon. This walk is 2.5km and is of moderate difficulty as it has slopes with uneven ground. 

Some of the walk is along unsurfaced path and can be quite muddy in places. Walking boots/wellies are advisable.  

As the focus of the walks is to spot wildlife, dogs are not permitted. (The walk at Lakeside is open to dogs on leads)  

Refreshments are provided. There is limited seating next to the car park so feel free to bring a deck chair for your comfort. 

Meeting place -Great Down Car Park off Long Lane, Bursledon

Walk and Talk Hamble

Join a circular guided walk of 3km passing through Hamble common and along the coastal path. Ground conditions are uneven in places and the footpath can be very wet after rain and high tide. Walking boots/wellies are advisable.

We have refreshments in the Mercury Hub after the walk

As the focus of the walks is to spot wildlife, dogs are not permitted on the walks. (The walk at Lakeside is open to dogs on leads)  

Meeting place- The Mercury Library and Hub on High Street in Hamble. Parking is available on Copse Lane.

Join a circular 3km guided walk at a relaxed pace. Walking boots/wellies are advisable. Refreshments are provided. 

Winter route: follows surfaced track into Royal Victoria Country Park

Join a slow walk of up to 2km. The pace and distance will be adaptable according to the group's needs.

Meet at Mount Pleasant Playing Field car park on Hamble Lane.  

The walk will be mostly on a hard surface but does include a slope.

Refreshments will be provided after the walk.

The workshop led by Irene is a beginners guide to Quilling but will also suit improvers. 

All materials and refreshments provided.


Watercolour Wellbeing Workshop inspired by Lavender

Watercolour Wellbeing Workshop

The workshop will be a mixture of watercolour painting and yoga breathwork.

A Yoga mat is required. If you are unable to lie on the floor a chair can be used. Wear clothing suitable for movement.

Please write on the booking form if you have any injuries, or anything that may cause you discomfort, that the leader should be aware of e.g Neck & Shoulder Tension / Back Ache / Trouble Sleeping / Stress / Anxiety 

If you are pregnant, have high or low blood pressure or have detached retina please make sure to talk to the leader before class. 

Refreshments- coffee and a selection of teas will be available.

There will be a 30 minute lunch break and a vegetarian buffet will be provided. Add any dietary conditions to the booking form.

Buffet will include: Hummus with Crudites; Feta, Olive Salad pots; Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Skewers; An Assortment of Wraps - Coronation Chickpea, Cheddar cheese and pesto, Carrot and Raisin; Lentil Crisps; Fruit Kebabs
