No. Disposable and portable barbeques are not permitted at Itchen Valley Country Park as they present a fire and litter risk.
The hire charges include a 5kg bag of charcoal for a single booking and two 5kg bags of charcoal for a double booking. This must be collected from the cafe by 4:30pm when the café closes.
This should be sufficient but more can be purchased when you arrive.
One free parking permit is provided to the person making the booking, this can be collected from the café.
You must bring your own matches, firelighters and rubbish bags to take your rubbish home with you.

The Barn is equipped with a sink, kettle, microwave and a fridge. We provide cups for you to use but please bring any other crockery or cookware that you need on the day.

More than 14 days’ notice: no charge
7-14 days’ notice: 50% hire charge
Less than 7 days’ notice: 100% of the Hire Charge
Bookings are non-transferable unless it is raining on the day when it may be transferred to another available date if agreed with staff prior to booking date
Unfortunately there are no refunds if you cancel your booking.
Activities, Events, or Room Hire are rarely cancelled because of inclement weather.
Ticket holders will receive 24 hours notice if an event is cancelled due to high winds (consistently over 35mph) or thunderstorms being forecast, and tickets will be refunded.
Yes, there are. You will need a RADAR key – if you do not have one please ask a member of staff as they will be able to provide one.
If you have booked an evening BBQ you will be given the key for the disabled toilet, this must be collected from the cafe before 4:30pm when the cafe closes. Please return the key by posting it through the letterbox in the wooden front doors at the end of the session

If an event does not have 'Book Now' next to it, it means it is full
Each barbecue is padlocked, the code is available from the cafe. The bar and padlock should be replaced at the end of your session
The Hide has recycling and general waste bins that can be used, all other rubbish and unwanted items must be removed from the space. One refuse sack may be left in the Eurobins next to the main café- refuse sacks are not provided. Itchen Valley encourage, where possible, hirers to use recyclable or compostable materials at the park.
The Hirer must give notice of cancellation of a booking by email to ivcp@eastleigh.gov.uk and should ensure they receive acknowledgement from Council staff. Cancellation charges apply as follows subject to the discretion of Itchen Valley Country Park:
Less than 14 days’ notice: 50% charge
Less than 7 days’ notice: Full charge
Itchen Valley Country Park reserves the right to cancel any hire without notice if, due to circumstances outside their control, the premises is unavailable for the hire period. In this event, no hiring fees will be due, but Itchen Valley Country Park and Eastleigh Borough Council shall have no further liability to the Hirer.
Any refunds owed due to cancellation will be arranged by Eastleigh Borough Council within two weeks of the cancellation date.
There is a small kitchen within the building, which can be hired alongside the Hide. This should be booked prior to the event.
Catering, including tea and coffee, can be provided by Itchen Valley Country Park's Catering team for an additional fee. Please contact the team on ivcp@eastleigh.gov.uk
External caterers must be agreed in writing with IVCP management before the event
Candles are permitted for birthday cakes only, hirers must ensure windows and doors are open to allow adequate ventilation of the space whilst candles are lit.
Itchen Valley Country Park and Eastleigh Borough Council offer no marketing or communications support for events in The Hide. If marketing support is agreed with park management, it must be signed off by the EBC communications team and park management prior to release.
The Hide includes the use of an internal sound system, which can be connected to personal mobile devices. Any electrical equipment brought into The Hide must have an up-to-date portable appliance test sticker (PAT) and may be subjected to spot checks by EBC Management. Kitchen appliances cannot be brought into the Hide.
