Bat Detectives- Bioblitz

A member of Hampshire Bat Group will be leading a walk to discover the bats inhabiting Itchen Valley Country Park. The evening starts with an informative talk about the nocturnal mammals, followed by a short walk with detectors to listen out for the different species flying around. Suitable for adults and children 6 + years.

The route may contain uneven ground. Please get in touch to discuss any access needs.

Come to Heidi's Floristry stall in the marketplace behind the cafe.

Woodland Story

The Nest is an outdoor story telling area 400m walk from the Cafe.

The bird feeder will be filled with a mixture of lard and seeds. You might want to bring a plastic bag to carry it home in.

For accompanied 3-7 years. Book places for children only. 

Younger siblings in pushchairs/prams may attend.

Warm, weatherproof clothing is recommended 


Hamble train small

Bursledon to Hamble Linear Walk and Train Back

Join an 7km linear walk on the Hamble Peninsula, starting at Bursledon station and returning by train from Hamble station. We will stop off in Hamble for a refreshment break

We will meet at Bursledon station at 10.15 so that people can arrive by train and aim to get the 13:04 train back from Hamble

Sturdy footwear and clothing to protect from the weather is recommended. Bring water and any medication you might need

Please don't bring dogs

If the weather forecast is for high winds, thunderstorms or heavy rain the walk will be cancelled the day before by email



Hamble trail small

Hamble Peninsular Guided Walk

A 7km circular walk along the Hamble Rail Trail to Hamble Village and back via Hamble Common, along the shore and through Royal Victoria Country Park.

For people who enjoy walking at a reasonable pace and would prefer to be with a group. The shoreline is stony and uneven ground.

Meet at Mount Pleasant Playing Fields car park on Hamble Lane

We will be stopping for a refreshment break in Hamble 

Please don't bring dogs.


IVCP walk and talk

Walk and Talk - IVCP

A friendly group who meet for a walk and talk in the park. The walk is up to 3 km in distance at a relaxed pace. It is mostly on surfaced tracks but sometimes includes walking up a slope and after rain the ground conditions can be slippery. Walking boots/wellies and sticks are recommended. 

A parking permit is provided

A guided walk to meet new people, chat and explore the Country Park. The walk is a distance of up to 2 km at a relaxed pace.

Parking is free  

Refreshments are available for the cost of £1 for a hot drink and a biscuit. Cash only please

Waterproof footwear is recommended

Well behaved dogs on leads are permitted

Walk and Talk Bursledon

Join a circular guided walk at a relaxed pace around Old Bursledon. This walk is 2.5km and is of moderate difficulty as it has slopes with uneven ground. 

Some of the walk is along unsurfaced path and can be quite muddy in places. Walking boots/wellies are advisable.  

As the focus of the walks is to spot wildlife, dogs are not permitted. (The walk at Lakeside is open to dogs on leads)  

Refreshments are provided. There is limited seating next to the car park so feel free to bring a deck chair for your comfort. 

Meeting place -Great Down Car Park off Long Lane, Bursledon

Walk and Talk Hamble

Join a circular guided walk of 3km passing through Hamble common and along the coastal path. Ground conditions are uneven in places and the footpath can be very wet after rain and high tide. Walking boots/wellies are advisable.

We have refreshments in the Mercury Hub after the walk

As the focus of the walks is to spot wildlife, dogs are not permitted on the walks. (The walk at Lakeside is open to dogs on leads)  

Meeting place- The Mercury Library and Hub on High Street in Hamble. Parking is available on Copse Lane.

Walk and Talk Hound (Netley)

Join a circular 3km guided walk at a relaxed pace. Walking boots/wellies are advisable. Refreshments are provided. 

Winter route: follows surfaced track into Royal Victoria Country Park

Craft and Natter- Pyrography and Wet Felting

Crafts Pyrography (wood burning) and Wet Felting will be available to try in The Hide. 

We will use pliers to change the tips on the wood burning tool. It will be hot so a leather glove will be available.

You may want to bring your own heatproof glove. 

We use olive oil soap for felting. Felting is not suitable for anyone with a lanolin allergy.

The workshop led by Irene is a beginners guide to Quilling but will also suit improvers.

Spring Foraging Walk

The foraging walk is suitable for people who are interested in learning about and tasting seasonal edible plants.

Enthusiastic children 12+ years must be accompanied by an adult. 

The 3 hour walk will be slow paced and cover both surfaced woodland paths and unsurfaced field paths. The ground may be boggy in places. 

You may want to bring a notepad and camera to record what is found. 

Sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the weather is advisable.

Watercolour Wellbeing Workshop inspired by Lavender

Watercolour Wellbeing Workshop

The workshop will be a mixture of watercolour painting and yoga breathwork.

A Yoga mat is required. If you are unable to lie on the floor a chair can be used. Wear clothing suitable for movement.

Please write on the booking form if you have any injuries, or anything that may cause you discomfort, that the leader should be aware of e.g Neck & Shoulder Tension / Back Ache / Trouble Sleeping / Stress / Anxiety 

If you are pregnant, have high or low blood pressure or have detached retina please make sure to talk to the leader before class. 

Refreshments- coffee and a selection of teas will be available. There will be a 30 minute lunch break and a vegetarian buffet will be provided. Add any dietary conditions to the booking form.
